Up until now Samsung owned the title for best phablet manufacturer impressing its users with he Galaxy Note gizmos, however ever since the Nexus line was brought forth by Google, Samsung is now facing fierce competition. That is why we’ve decided to set side by side Samsung Galaxy Note 5 versus Google Nexus 6P.
Design and Display
The Galaxy Note 5 is built entirely out of glass and metal with an aluminum ring and a glass panel. The Nexus 6P device is entirely made out of aluminum and it has Gorilla Glass on the rear, the latter gizmo houses front-facing stereo speakers, while the Note 5 has a built-in speaker fixed on the bottom part.
The Nexus 6P as well as the Galaxy Note 5 rock a 5.7-inch 2560×1440 Super AMOLED display. The Nexus 6P also has a sRGB color mode while the Note 5 comes packed with the S Pen. With it, users can quickly access all sorts of tools and options and without any modesty, this is one of the best stylus out there at the moment (for Android gizmo at least).
Chipsets, RAM, Storage
The devices also have another thing in common: an octa-core 64-bit ARM chipset, but the Note 5 functions on the Samsung Exynos 7420 while the Nexus 6P has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 under the hood.
As far as RAM, the Nexus 6P has 3GB of RAM and the following storage options: 32/64/128 GB whereas the Note 5 comes with 4GB of RAM and you can only find it in 32/64GB options. None of them come with the microSD card slot option.
A 12.3 MP camera has been added in the Nexus 6P gizmo with autofocus as well as OIS, the Galaxy Note 5 comes with a 16MP snapper and it lacks the laser autofocus element while the electronic stabilization feature is available solely for video.
OS, Pricing and Availability
The Note 5 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop while the Nexus 6P will roll out with the Android M straight out of the box.
The Note 5 can be acquired from all carriers and you can opt for a payment plan that suits your financial needs. The Nexus 6P on the other hand can only be acquired via Goggle as carrier shops will not have this device on stock. As for the price sticker, the 32GB version of the Note 5 retails for $700 whilst the 32 GB version of the Nexus 6P is priced at $500.
