Samsung Galaxy On7 – Another Midrange Phone from South Korea

1

The Samsung Galaxy On7 has been rumored for quite a while, and it has officially hit the stores in China and other South Asian countries.

Display

The device has a 5.5-inch screen with 720p resolution. To keep the costs down, Samsung offers only the TFT technology and not the Super AMOLED displays. Compared with phones in this price point, the Galaxy On7 is better designed in many regards. It is only 8.2 mm thick, but its weight of 172 grams may disappoint some.

Speed

The biggest disappointment maybe the Android 5.1 operating system that continues behind the screens. The phone is fast enough to support the latest 6.0 version, but it may be available only later as an update. This operating system is powered by a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor. There is adecent amount of RAM – 1.5 GB – to support multitasking.

Memory

Several high-end Samsung phones have gone beyond offering external microSD card support, but this feature continues to be retained on the Galaxy On7. Apart from having 8 GB of internal storage, the phone can support an additional 128 GB. This will be more than sufficient considering the phone’s processing capabilities.

Camera

Recent Samsung phones have been excellentregardingimaging, and this is certainly true in the case of the Galaxy On7, which has a 13-megapixel rear camera. The front facing camera is also an equally good five-megapixel sensor. The only glitch regarding the camera maybe the absence of 4K video recording feature, but this may have been omitted due to the low internal memory available on the device.

Connectivity

Samsung has provided the Galaxy On7 with a decent set of connectivity options like the Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, and microUSB. These are aspects that are extremely necessary for a smartphone, and anything else is a luxury. Samsung has concentrated on keeping the costs low with the Galaxy On7, but it has provided a sufficiently powerful 3000 mAh battery. This should be good enough for around 11 hours of talk time on 3G networks. The phone will be available only in two colors to start with – white and black. Specific price of the device will be available once it is available towards the end of November. Expect the pricing to be around $300 for the good specifications that the phone has in its Arsenal.
