Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Google Nexus 4 Updated To Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

If you are an owner of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 device that’s connected to the Verizon mobile network, then you should get prepared for the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update soon. According to the latest reports, the Android OTA update for the Galaxy Note 4 (build number SM-N910V) is expected to be released this month. This new update will come with security patches, new features and new notification controls.

Verizon has received a lot of complaints from the Galaxy Note 4 owners that are connected to its mobile network. It seems that these users are not happy with the huge delay of the Android OTA update for their devices, this is after the latest Android Lollipop OTA update was released for the Galaxy Note 4 devices connected to Sprint mobile network.

There are also users from other mobile network such as US Cellular, AT&T and T-Mobile, who are hoping that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update will be finally released for their Galaxy Note 4 devices. With other words, Sprint is the only mobile network in the US that has released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update for the Galaxy Note 3 devices.

Google’s Nexus 4: Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Custom ROM Update Available For Download

After Google has announced the Nexus devices that will receive the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, there were many disappointed Nexus 4 owners and that was because the Nexus 4 was not in the list.

However, thanks to a custom ROM, the owners of the Nexus 4 can now update their devices to Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, this custom ROM can be downloaded from the internet and it will need to be manually installed on Nexus 4 device.

However, before you start installing it on your Nexus 4 device, you will need to make sure that you have the international version or else it will not work. After that, you will need to make sure that the device has at least 80% battery left, so that it doesn’t shut down during the installation process. At the same time, you need to make sure that the Nexus 4 bootloader is unlocked and that the CWM recovery is installed.

Installing CM12.1 Android 5.1.1 Custom ROM On The Nexus 4

First of all, you will need to download the CM12.1 Android custom ROM (for Nexus 4) and Google Apps zip files on your computer. After that, you will need to connect your Nexus 4 to the computer using an USB cable and copy the zips files to the mobile device.

Turn off your Nexus 4 and boot it into recovery mode by holding down the Power+Volume Down and Volume Up buttons at the same time. Once the device has booted into Recovery Mode, select CWM Recovery, select “Wipe Data/Factory Reset” and choose “Wipe Cache Partition”, after that, you will need to select “Advanced” in the Recovery menu and select “Wipe Dalvik Cache”.

Now, head back to the Recovery Mode main menu, choose “install zip from the SD card”, and select the CM12.1 Android 5.1.1 custom ROM zip file to install it on your device. Once the installation is complete, do the same with the Google Apps zip file.

Once the CM12.1 Android 5.1.1 custom ROM and Google Apps zip files are installed, get back to the Recovery Mode main menu and select “Reboot System Now”, enjoy using the latest Android Lollipop update on your Nexus 4 device!
