iPhone 6s Plus vs. Moto X Style (Pure Edition) – What’s Your Favorite Phablet?
Motorola is a company with a lot of potential, and its products are selling well, especially after its collaboration with Google, last year, for the production of the Nexus 6. In 2015, instead of one flagship, the manufacturer brought two phablets and the Moto X Style is the high-tier version. Apple’s new phablet is only an improved iPhone 6Plus, but with an identical design, dimensions and display. Let’s see a comparison between the iPhone 6s Plus and Moto X Style, also known as Pure Edition.
Designs and Displays
The iPhone 6S Plus is definitely one of the most luxurious smartphones. Apple knows how to attract buyers because the company is using the highest quality materials for its products, and we surely like the aluminum construction with the new color option, Rose Gold, in addition to Space Gray, Silver and Gold. If you haven’t heard yet, Apple has worked on a new aluminum allow, series 7000, which is more durable and a bit thicker. The phablet measures now 158.2×77.9×7.3mm and compared to its predecessor is 20grams heavier, weighting 192grams, but that’s also because of the new screen technology called 3D Touch, which detects various levels of pressure applied to the surface of the screen. And the diagonal of the screen is 5.5-inch, supporting a Full HD resolution of 1080×1920 pixels at 401ppi.
The Moto X Style is also impressive, but not as beautiful as the iPhone 6S Plus. It features a silicone backing, which is grippable thanks to the diagonal lines. Also, the camera and logo are included in a vertical metal strip and the frame is also made of metal. The back is curved and has a dip at the top, while its dimensions are 153.9×76.2×11.1mm and it weights 179grams. If you don’t like the default color of the back, strip, frame or front, you can customize the phone the way you want, on the Moto Maker website, the screen is larger, being sized at 5.7-inch (AMOLED), but it supports a QHD resolution of 1440x2560pixels at 520ppi.
While the exterior of the iPhone 6S Plus is identical to that of its predecessor, inside have been made some improvements, the processor being replaced with an Apple A9 Dual-core 1.84 GHz Twister, which is 70 percent faster than the A8 and it’s backed by 2GB of RAM. The internal memory is unchanged, supporting variants of 16/64/128 GB.
The Moto X Style is using the previous 32bit hexa core Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 processor running at 1.8GHz with 3GB of RAM. The performance is decent, but the device is outperformed by the iPhone 6S Plus, as for the internal memory, it’s also available in three variants – 16/32/64 GB – but they’re expandable up to 128GB.
Cameras and Batteries
Both the iPhone 6S Plus and Moto X Style sport a 5MP front camera, but the rear cameras have different resolutions, but mutual features such as phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash and 4K video recording. The iPhone 6S Plus has a 12MP camera with an aperture of f/2.2 and has in addition OIS, while the Moto X Style comes with a 21MP camera with an aperture of F/2.0.
Both batteries are non-removable, but the iPhone 6S Plus sports a smaller 2750 mAh cell and offers 24 hours of talk time, while the Moto X Style is powered by a 3000 mAh battery which supports fast charging.
