Nexus 6P vs. Sony Xperia C5 Ultra – Metal or Glass?

0

We have an interesting comparison for you: the successor of the Xperia C3 and the successor of the Nexus 6. Both, the Nexus 6P and Xperia C5 Ultra are phablets and look awesome, but if you’re curious which one has better specs, you will find out below.

Designs and Displays

Unlike the Nexus 6, which was created by Motorola and had a curved back made of matte plastic, the Nexus 6P is similar to Huawei’s P8 flagship, meaning that it has a metal construction and a black horizontal band at the top, where you’ll find the rear camera in the left corner. However, the Nexus 6P has curved sides, while the P8 is flat and slimmer, and lacks a fingerprint scanner. The Nexus 6P is superior to the Nexus 5X not only because of its design, but because it has a large screen with a higher resolution. Huawei used an AMOLED panel created by Samsung, which has a diagonal of 5.7-inch and a resolution of 1440x2560pixels at 518ppi, the device is weighting 178grams and has a thickness of 7.3mm.

The Xperia C5 Ultra is a lot taller and has a metal frame with a glass back, but unlike its Xperia flagship brothers, it’s not resistant to dust or water. It weights 187 grams and it’s thicker at 8.2mm, while the screen measures 6-inch and it’s an IPS LCD supporting a lower resolution of 1080x1920pixels at 367ppi.

Hardware

The Nexus 6P is definitely worth your appreciation, because it’s one of the devices with a respectable performance. Under its hood, it hides a Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 octa core processor clocked at 2GHz, which is backed by 3GB of RAM, but as for the internal memory, you’ll be happy to hear that there are three options to choose from: 32/64/128 GB, the downside is that the device isn’t equipped with a microSD card slot, so you won’t be able to expand its storage.

The Xperia C5 Ultra has a weaker Mediatek MT6752 octa core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, which is backed by 2GB of RAM, but its internal memory can be increased from 16GB up to 200GB.

Cameras and Batteries

The Nexus 6P sports a 12.3MP Sony Exmor R (IMX377) sensor with f/2.0 optics, laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash and 1.55µm pixel size, being able to capture 4K videos at 30fps, the resolution of the front camera is very high compared to other models, supporting 8MP. The battery is very large, as well, having a capacity of 3450 mAh and thanks to the new USB Type-C port, it can be charged faster.

The Xperia C5 Ultra has a 13MP camera on both sides, supporting LED flash, but they record Full HD videos 30fps. The battery is smaller, of 2930 mAh and on paper it lasts around 13 hours when talking over 3G.
