According to some leaked documents, Samsung could begin updating some of its smartphones to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. That’s of course if the schedule that was spotted on the leaked document proves to be accurate.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow was launched last month on October 6, 2015 by Google. This is the latest Android OS version and it comes with many new features such as Google Now On Tap, improved battery life via Doze, support for Android Pay and more. At the same time, the Android 6.0 Marshmallow is better protected against malware and any other mobile security issues.

TimesNewsUK has obtained a leaked document which clearly shows the update schedule for some of the Samsung smartphones. It seems that Samsung will split the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in at least two phases. The first phase will include some key models released by Samsung, such as the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update Plans

At the same time, there are a few more devices that will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the first phase including Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note Edge.

According to the leaked document, that was written on October 29, 2015, the update was already internally tested and approved for the Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge.

In addition, the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ should arrive sometime in December 2015, while the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge should get the OTA update sometime in January 2016. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge are expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update sometime in February 2016.

Unfortunately, the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy Alpha that were included in the first phase of the update were still waiting for approval, there was no date showing the estimated time of arrival. In the same situation are all the devices that were listed for the second phase of the update such as the: Galaxy A8, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A3, Galaxy E7 and Galaxy E5.
