LG has begun to roll out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for some of its devices, LG G4 owners in Poland and Korea are the first to receive the update and it is said that LG will release the update for G3 in Poland in the coming month.
Now that the LG Nexus 5X belongs to Google’s Nexus family, the device will be shipped with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. No news about implementing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow on LG V10, but considering that the device is the company’s new flagship it is likely to receive the update really soon.
The South Korean tech company has released a beta version of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in Poland for LG G4 users and after the success recorded there, the update was made available in the home country for other devices like LG-F500K, LG-F500L and LG-F500S.
The international variants of the LG G4 such as LG-H810, LG-H815, and LG-H818 are also expected to get Android M in the upcoming weeks. The new Android M build prevents the apps running in the background from exhausting battery life and overuse data when the LG G4 is kept idle. The LG Q+ app is now named Memo Capture+ and LG Bridge was renamed to LG AirDrive.
LG G3 owners in Poland should expect an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow on their devices by mid December. Even though it may be an older device, since it was launched in 2013, the LG G2 might get the update also but it doesn’t represent a priority. There are news that the LG G Flex 2, one of the first smartphones to use the Snapdragon 810 chipset, and LG G Stylo are to receive the update but there was no confirmation. Currently the devices run on Andriod 5.0.1 Lollipop.
