Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S5, Alpha and Tab A To Receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update

We’ve told you a few days ago about an internal document from Samsung that has been leaked and it shows the schedule of the company for releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to some Galaxy models.

We have some good news, as a new document has been leaked and it shows that Samsung has modified its plans for releasing the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its devices.

According to the previously leaked document by TimesNews, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 were scheduled to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in December 2015. However, the new internal document shows that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will not receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow next month and, instead, it will be delayed until January 2016.

With other words, the Samsung Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in January.

The Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge and Galaxy S5 devices has received the approval for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. The Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note 5 will receive the update in February 2016 while the Galaxy S5 will receive it sometime in April 2016.

The Galaxy A8 is another device that received the approval and it will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow in March 2016. Finally, the latest device Samsung device that received the approval for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is the Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and it will receive the update sometime in April 2016.

Here are the Galaxy devices that are still waiting for the update approval: Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy Tab S2, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A3, Galaxy E7, Galaxy E5, Galaxy J7, Galaxy J5, Galaxy J2 and Galaxy Tab A.

Unfortunately for the Galaxy J1, the update status for it is currently “Canceled” and there are high chances that it will not be updated to the latest Android OS.
