The Galaxy S6 Active has been waiting for the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for quite some time. We agree that it will take a good amount of time until the device will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update, but meanwhile you can update it to the latest Android Lollipop Update (5.1.1), as the OTA update is already released for the Galaxy S6 Active devices that are connected to the AT&T carrier.
We remind you that AT&T released the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update for the Galaxy S6 two months ago and last week the Galaxy S5 Active was also updated to the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
Finally, AT&T has also released this update for the Galaxy S6 Active devices and we remind you that this device is exclusive through AT&T. There are a few rumors which say that Samsung has posted the arrival of the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update for this device and it has the build number G890AUCU3BOJE on the support page. However, Samsung didn’t confirm what features this new OTA update will bring, its size and when it will arrive.
However, according to Samsung page, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update comes with support for Samsung Pay, the mobile payment which rivals the Apple Pay and Android Pay.
As expected, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OTA update for the Galaxy S6 Active will be pushed out by AT&T in phases. You will receive an alert for the update or you can also check it manually by going to the device’s Settings->System->About Device->Software Update->Check for updates.
