Sometimes, the developers of WhatsApp are releasing even two updates in the same day because there are many bugs which are discovered by the users who report them. Recently, a new stable version has been uploaded to the Google Play store, and currently, there are some features which need to be improved until they reach the stable version of WhatsApp 2.12.365 is the latest APK which can be downloaded from the internet, not from the official website, where you’ll find the previous version.

The installation file of WhatsApp 2.12.365 is smaller, being decreased from 23.25 MB to 19.87 MB, so we’re not sure what files have been removed, because the developers haven’t provided an official changelog, but we’re pretty sure that this update contains only bug fixes and not new features. Recently, WhatsApp added the option to backup chats on Google Drive, but this feature appeared only on certain devices and maybe the developers solved this problem in the new update.

Other changes that have been made in previous updates are related to the option to add a star to a message, to delete messages for days and months, getting rid of all of chats or from certain contacts, by going to Clear All Chats. Also, there is a new option to mark messages as favorites and when receiving a message with a link, now you’ll see a preview of its content, so you will know what’s inside without opening the link.

Some other features offered by WhatsApp are: the latest emoji characters symbolizing food, fruits, animals and the offensive middle finger; the emoji faces have different skin tones; you can make free calls to other WhatsApp friends, but you will consume your mobile data in case you don’t connect to a wireless network; you can mark chats as unread or read; and if you don’t want to use too much data when making voice calls, you will go to Settings > Chats and Calls and you’ll see the difference; WhatsApp is now available in Urdu and Bengali languages.

If you’ve installed now WhatsApp on your Android smartphone, you’ll be able to use it for free in the next 12 months, then you will be charged $0.99 every year.
