After being criticized for adopting a strategy similar with Apple’s, and removed the micro SD memory expansion slot from it’s Galaxy S6, Samsung goes back on its decision with the new flagship.

New reports state that Samsung intends to bring back the micro SD card expansion on its new flagship models, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. The launch of the two smartphones is scheduled at the beginning of the next year in February, fans around the world are eager to see if the rumors about reintroducing the micro SD expansion slot are true. This will most likely happen at the Unpacking even scheduled for 21st of February 2016.

Everyone was paying attention to Samsung in regards with its new Galaxy S7 model, and in August news have surfaced about testing the new phone under a different name. At the time Samsung was testing the new chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 820, on its new device, unlike its predecessors which were exclusively using Samsung’s Exynos processors. Now it looks like Samsung will be using both the Snapdragon 820 and the Exynos 8890 on the Galaxy S7, choosing a dual processor strategy. Depending on the region and on the carrier, users will be able to purchase a Galaxy S7 or a Galaxy S7 Edge with one of the above mentioned chipsets. At this time AT&T is conducting test with the two phones on its network, thus implying that the devices will be available to purchase soon after their official launch.

With the new generation of flagships Samsung brings back a feature that the company highly touted through the years, when comparing its high end devices with Apple’s phones, the micro SD expansion slot. The display, curved around the edges, a feature that attracted a lot of fans with the launch of the Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge+, will be present on the Galaxy S7 as well, but some reports show that this time the curve will be at the top and at the bottom of the phone, instead of being on the left and on the right, like on the S6 Edge.

For sure this will please many Galaxy S series fans, but that is not it, Samsung still has more to offer with its new phone.
