Samsung Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 Release Dates with Features and Improvements
Two of the “A” models have been released in the fall of 2014, while the phablet has arrived at the beginning of 2015. Samsung was very pleased with how the fans have received these smartphones and decided to improve their appearance and internal specs. The upcoming versions will have a metal and glass body just like the Galaxy S6, and their bezels will be narrower. Bellow, we’ll tell you about the rest of changes.
Displays and Dimensions
The Galaxy A7 is the phablet model, which will sport a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED screen which will support a resolution of 1080x1920pixels at 401ppi and its body will measure 151.5×74.1×7.3mm, resulting in a total weight of 172grams, the A5 is the middle option, featuring a 5.2-inch screen with the same resolution, but which is sharper because the pixel density is higher at 424ppi, while the physical dimensions will be 144.8x71x7.3mm and the device will weight 155grams. Finally, the small model will have a 4.7-inch screen (increased from 4.5-inch) with a 720x1280pixels resolution at 312ppi, and it will measure 134.5×65.2×7.3mm, while its weight will be 132grams.
All three devices will come loaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, but the Galaxy A7 and A5 will feature an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz, but the phablet will support 3GB of RAM and the latter will house 2GB of RAM. The A3 will be much weaker than its bigger brothers, as it will feature a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor which will be backed by 1.5GB of RAM. However, all three Samsung handsets will have an internal memory of 16GB, which will support expansion up to 128GB with a microSD card.
Cameras and Batteries
All three devices will have a 13MP main camera with an F1.9 aperture, but only the A7 and A5 will offer OIS. Also, their front camera will be the same, supporting 5MP.
The A7 will require a bigger battery of 3300mAh and will support a fast charging feature, while the A7 will come with a 2900mAh battery and the A3, which is much smaller than the other two devices, will be powered by a 2300mAh battery.
Also, all three handsets will offer 4G connectivity, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi (a/b/g/n) and a micro USB 2.0 port.
