According to the latest rumors, Galaxy S7’s processor has obtained better results in benchmark tests than Apple’s Apple A9. Also, compared to the S6, the S7 will be ten percent cheaper and there will be two variants of processors, the Qualcomm 820 for the US and China, while the other one will be Samsung’s Exynos 8890 and will be shipped to the rest of the world.
So, in the single-core performance test, the S7 with a Snapdragon 820 processor obtained a score of 2456, being beaten by A9’s processor which scored 2537. But, in the multi-core test, the S7 had an amazing score of 5423, outperforming the A9, which scored 4454. So, if these numbers will be correct, it means that the Galaxy S7 will be the most powerful smartphone in the world, and most likely, Samsung will equip it with 4GB of RAM. Unfortunately, the fans who were hoping to see the microSD card slot back will be extremely happy, because the company has decided to bring it back, although the phone will have the same glass and metal design.
However, the S6 was made using 6013 aluminum, but the successor will receive a magnesium alloy, which will be more durable. Also, the main camera is rumored to be upgraded to 20MP and will have a large ½ inch sensor, but there’s no word yet about the other camera or the battery capacity. The Galaxy S6 had a small battery of only 2550mAh which many users have criticized, but at least it came with two important features: fast charging and wireless charging.
Also, the latest reports claim that the Galaxy S7 will measure 143.37×70.8×6.94mm, so it will be almost identical to the S6, which measures 143.4×70.5×6.8mm. From this, we’re concluding that the screen will have the same size of 5.1-inch, but the battery will be now charged via the new Type-C USB, which has been introduced on flagships such as OnePlus 2, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.
The Galaxy S7 is rumored to be officially announced in January.
