LG G4 and HTC One M8 to Receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA Update

0

A good amount of Nexus devices are already starting to get the Android 6.0.1 OTA update. However, a good amount of powerful devices from other companies such as LG or HTC haven’t received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update yet.

However, we have some good news, as both the LG G4 and HTC One M8 devices are currently starting to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update. The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is expected to be released for the unlocked LG G4 devices in the US at the beginning of January 2016. However, when it comes to the LG G4 carrier versions (Sprint, Verizon, Bell, AT&T, T-Mobile etc) the latest Android OS version will be released on a later date.

We remind that the LG Company haven’t said a word about the Android 6.0 Marshmallow being released for its G4 device, but since the testing has already started in the European and Asian regions, we’re pretty sure that the rollout is imminent in the US.

HTC One M8 Receives The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA Update

The HTC One M8 has already started receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update. This has been confirmed by Mo Versi on his twitter account at the beginning of December. At the same time, some HTC One M8 owners have also confirmed that they’ve received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update. With other words, it’s just a matter of time until all powerful mobile devices that run on Android OS will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update.

Here Are Some Features That The Android 6.0 Marshmallow Comes With:

– Doze Mode: This new feature puts your device into a “deep” sleep when it’s unused, significantly increasing the battery life;
– Android Pay: Using this feature you will be able to make purchases without even needing to launch another application;
– Now on Tap: Google Now gets a better function. By pressing and holding the “Home” button, you will see Google Now and information based on the current status or activity. For example, if you listen to a song, you can ask Google Now to tell you who is the lead singer of that band and it will search that information for you.

The Android 6.0 Marshmallow also comes with other features such as Chrome custom tab, better app links, smarter app permissions and more.
