The whole world has set its eyes on Paris as the French capital wipes its tears from the recent attacks by ISIS terror group to hold a Global Climate Summit that is expected to highlight the needs of clean, affordable and sustainable energy.

In showing its support to the ongoing summit, social media platform Twitter has launched a new tool aimed at marking this huge event. Using a climate-themed emoji, users of this platform can show their support for the discussions as well as follow up on the proceedings of the conference.

The summit is targeting the development of a first ever global agreement aimed at cutting emissions from the many planet activities humans are involved in; emissions that are particularly depleting the ozone layer.

The Paris gathering will see more than 40,000 diplomats from all over the world, including the U.S. President Barrack Obama as well as China’s President Xi Jinping, among many others. World leader and members of different civil society organizations will be putting their minds together in a bid to find out a last minute solution to the worsening situation that is being brought about by planet-warming greenhouse emissions.

Leaders see this summit as the best shot at coming to a true global agreement where standards require that global warming activities do not exceed the targeted 3.6 degrees Fahrenheit or 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

Scientists have in the past warned that going beyond the targeted global warming levels would have extremely devastating effects to the world. There are high chances of extreme weather events, mind-blowing increments in the seal levels, national security disasters as well as food shortages, among many others. This is just how bad it can get if the current summit is not taken seriously.

World leaders attending the Paris Global Summit on Climate Change started departing the country on Tuesday. However, this doesn’t mean the summit is over, instead, they are simply giving room to the diplomats to craft the precise agreement such that it is unanimously passed – a requirement that is stated under the United Nations.

The world has seen the need to have clean energy and in line with this summit, tech moguls and leading names in the business world have also joined hands to support technologies and innovations that will bring to life clean energy for all persons living on planet earth.
