WhatsApp is a very popular application that has over 900 million monthly active users and it is growing quite fast. WhatsApp was purchased by Facebook for 22 billion dollars back in 2014 and since then, the application has received many new features and other changes. Some of them were awesome, such as the Voice Calling, while others were quite catastrophic, such as the blue ticks, which allowed the sender to know if the receiver has read the message or not.

Today we’re going to talk about how to add a contact to your WhatsApp friends after you’ve installed the application on your smartphone.

We remind you that the WhatsApp application will “scan” the address book from your smartphone and it will automatically add any mobile phone number that’s registered on this application to your WhatsApp contact list. However, if you want to add new friends to your WhatsApp contact list, you will firstly need to add them to your address book and refresh the WhatsApp contact list. To do this, open the WhatsApp application and select Contacts Tab->Menu Button->Refresh.

At the same time, if someone who is not saved in your address book sends you a message on WhatsApp, you will be able to save his/her contact information by tapping “Add to Contacts”. Keep in mind that when adding contacts that live in other countries, you will need to enter their phone number in the full international format such as:

– +[country code][phone number]

Many WhatsApp users make mistakes when adding a new WhatsApp contact because they forget to add the country code. However, by using our sample, you will surely not have any problems.

Did you ever have issues when trying to add a new WhatsApp contact? What are your thoughts about the WhatsApp application?
