The here-and-now iPhone 6S is taking on the forthcoming iPhone 7 handset. If you’re curious to see how these two stack up against one another, scroll down.
Design and Display
In terms of design, the iPhone 6S mirrors its 6 sibling, however it is a bit thicker. The iPhone 6s has a 4.7-inch display and 5.5-inch 3D Touch while according to Ming-Chi Kuo, a very precise analyst that has guessed it right every single time, the iPhone 7 will rock a 4.7-inch display as well as a 5.5-inch 3D Touch while for the design part, it is believed that this iPhone will be a very slim one. According to Weibo, Apple is currently trying out various iPhone 7 mock-ups.
Water resistant certificate and LTE chip
The iPhone 6S device seems to endure half an hour underwater, according to a video that popped-up online. This is due to the adhesive banding that Apple has included in the latter device. Even if sources claim this was just a mock-up, the upcoming iPhone 7 is believed to be announced as a waterproof handset. According to a Chinese site, the new iPhone 7 will rock a plastic look to ensure the device is water resistant. This might sound disappointing to some, but for now we can only wait and see.
Currently, the iPhone 6S has the LTE chip from Qualcomm, but according to the grapevine, Intel is in charge of the LTE chipset that will be included in the iPhone 7.
Camera and Internal Storage
The iPhone 6S has reached the market with a revamped camera unit, this being a 12 MP back end one and a 5 MP front FaceTime shooter. However, the iPhone 7 might not have such an upgraded camera unit as the company may stick with the 12 MP back end shooter and include the OIS feature. FaceTime might also be part of the iPhone 7’s new camera feature, another thing that the iPhone 6s and the new iPhone 7 might have in common is the 4K video feature.
As for the internal storage options, the iPhone 6S has the 16/32/128 GB storage options while the iPhone 7 is presumed to have 32/ 64 and 128GB.
