Samsung Galaxy A9 to Feature a 6-inch Super AMOLED Display, 4000mAh Battery Unit
It is nor the first time rumors about Samsung Galaxy A9 are coming out, but this time, the rumor is backed with leaked images of this upcoming smartphone.
A number of promotional pictures have been doing rounds, giving us a closer look at what to expect when the new Galaxy A9 device is unveiled. The leaks show that this phone will come with a 6.0-inch Super AMOLED screen that manages a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. Inside it will be powered by a slightly older but still powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 CPU and a RAM of 3GB. As far as the internal memory is concerned, Samsung has gone for 32GB, but unlike the flagships that were unveiled this year, this mid-range device will come with a slot for a microSD card.
Samsung Pay is another feature you won’t miss on this device as the company is looking to take Apple Pay and Android Pay right to the edge as far as mobile payments are concerned this coming year. Given that tech companies have accepted that large screens are a huge contributor to the short battery life of some phablets, the new Galaxy A9 will be equipped with a massive 4,000mAh battery unit. To make charging the phone a hassle-free process, Samsung has equipped this phone with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0, a technology that will ensure you charge the phone’s battery up to a significant percentage in just a few minutes.
The rear of the A9 will feature a snapper of 13MP with support for optical image stabilization and an f/1.9 aperture. As far as selfies are concerned, there is a massive 8MP snapper on the front-facing camera, which should be more than enough to give you the best selfies as well as video calling sessions ever.
If your hopes were high that this mid-range smartphone will finally give you a chance to work with Google’s newest mobile OS, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, sorry for you! Reports suggest that Samsung will install Android 5.1.1 Lollipop on this device, but users will still be able to make use of the fingerprint scanner that will be mounted on the phone’s home button, just below the display.
Samsung Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 also coming out this Q1 2016
Other than the hyped Galaxy A9, Samsung will also be unveiling two other mid-range smartphones in the Galaxy A line of smartphones. According to the newest reports, the Galaxy A5 will come with a screen size of 5.2 inches with support for Super AMOLED Full HD technology while the Galaxy A7 will be equipped with a slightly larger screen size of 5.5 inches, but with the same technology as the former. As far as the battery unit is concerned, the larger-sized phone gets the bigger battery of 3,300mAh while the smaller A5 gets a similarly smaller 2,900mAh battery unit.
Samsung could unveil these devices within the next one or so months, given that January’s CES is here and the MWC is also waiting in the same Q1 2016.
