When, the screen of an Apple Watch is touched or tapped, it gets activated for at least 15 seconds. But, as the Apple Watch has introduced the new version, you can have the screen lighten up for more than 15 seconds or for the longer period. With this helpful option, you can have the display activated when it is on the nightstand mode or when you are demonstrating it out there.
Here are the steps that will help you in changing the Apple Watch display to the long. But, it is not possible with every Watch operating system. You need to have that WatchOS 2 or the latest version to enable those settings in your watch. If you do not have that option in your AppleWatch, then simply your WatchOS need an updating.
- At first, you need to open that Watch app on your paired iPhone by going to the “My Watch” option in Settings. There, click on the General and on the Wake Screen.
- In the Wake Screen tab, click on the “On Tap” and choose “Wake for 70 seconds” or “Wake for 15 seconds”, as per your choice.
- Now get out from the Settings.
- You can check out the timings by tapping on the Watch and check if it is given the display for longer or not. If you want it to change the timings again, then follow the same route of settings.
As we see that it is sounding very helpful, the bad thing about this option is that it sucks up your battery life and you have to put your watch on the charge more often.
For now, the display will light up for the 15 or 70 seconds, but we can expect that may be in future, the Apple will give us the option of middle timings of a few minutes or a few seconds as well.
