Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 Smartphone Receive Android Nougat in the USA

Do you dream of the new Samsung Galaxy S8 or even the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, but are stuck with your older Samsung Galaxy S7 for whatever reason? Well, we have some good news for you. If your phone is unlocked (not bought through an exclusive deal with a mobile data carrier), then you’re in for a treat, because Android 7.0 Nougat is coming to your device. With this new update, it will be easier to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S9, because it’s going to improve your Galaxy S7.

The update is being rolled out over the air, so it might take a while for it to hit your handset. But be ready for it. The update is quite hefty in size, weighing in at about 1.2GB. Therefore, you should start cleaning your phone now to make sure it will be able to download without any nasty interruption issues. On top of that, make sure that your battery has enough juice in it to support the download until the end. Interrupting an operating system update in the middle can damage your phone, and thus should be avoided as much as possible.

If you know a bit about how the Samsung Galaxy S7 received Android Nougat, then you might know that it came to carrier-branded devices first, which is unusual for Google to do. Generally, unlocked devices receive OS updates first, and then the carrier-branded ones get them from their respective mobile data carrier. So this was unexpected, to say the least. Many unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 users even feared they won’t get the update at all. Fortunately, that was not the case.

So, what about you? Did your Samsung Galaxy S7 handset get the new Android Nougat? If so, how do you like it? Let us know in the comment section below.
