The E3 event was, as always, quite a big reason for people to discuss the games to appear. Needless to say, fans were really anxious to hear more about the popular Half-Life franchise. Given that the developers team is supposedly working on Half-Life 3, it was really a surprise for the gamers when Jay Pinkertor, who worked as a writer, made an announcement that he is leaving Valve Corporation, which is the developer of the highly popular FPS.
Even though Valve did not release any official declaration related to the development for the Half-Life 3 game, fans have been convinced of that. Even so, taking into account Pinkerton’s leaving, the launch seem even bleaker.
Many Writer Have Left the Company
International Business Times reported that Pinkerton is in fact the 4th writer that leaves Valve. Gabe Newell, who is the CEO of the video game company, declared previously that they would release Half-Life 3 only if their staff presents particular interest in this. The fact that Pinkerton announced his exit only helped people imagine that they might never get to see another installment of the series.
Pinkerton is also famous for co-writing Portal 2, together with Eric Wolpaw. He joined the Valve team back in 2008. At the same time, we got the chance to play the first Half-Life game in 1998. The sequel followed later on, in 2007, which is when the waiting began for the third installment of the series.
Valve is also famous for releasing some other popular games, such as Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2. Given that their goal is to get as many games as they can on Steam, it is still a surprise that Pinkerton exited the team. However, we will just have to wait and see what will the future bring us.
