But what about the beloved modding tool Openiv?

The tool used to add mods to the game has been shut down after having received a cease and desit order from Take-Two Interactive (the GTA publisher).  The OpenIV modding tool has been around for 10 years and recently it has been declared illegal, therefore its creator cannot continue making it available to the public. Therefore there are no new updates and the tool is not available for download anymore.  Trying to applanate the conflict, the Rockstar game company declared in a statement that they are working hard to find a new alternative without affecting the community of players.

For those wondering what were the alleged problems with the multi-purpose editing tool, in the statement of the game company are mentioned mods which tolerated players’ harassment and also interference with the online experience of the game for all players.
