Pokemon Go Raid Battles Update – Everything You Need to Know
If you’re a fan of the Pokemon Go mobile game, you might know that it’s getting a massive update soon via a really neat patch. Not only will the basic Gym mechanics be overhauled completely by this new update, but a new feature is also coming. The feature is called Battle Raids and it consists of a co-op 20 player activity where those involved fight a really powerful Pokemon together. And if the team wins, everyone gets a substantial reward. Here’s everything you need to know about it.
You Will Need a Raid Pass
In order to participate in Battle Raids, you will need something called a Raid Pass. In order to acquire such an item, you need to visit a Gym at least once a day. You can only hold one Raid Pass at a time, so no stocking up on them to use on a later occasion will happen.
Raids Are Held in Special Gyms
The Raid Battles take place inside Gyms, in case you haven’t figured that out yet. But how will you know what Gym to go to in order to participate? Well, developers over at Niantic Labs made it all nice and easy. So the Gyms that hold Raids will have a large egg on top of them before the battle begins.
The Pokemon you will battle is called the Raid Boss, and if you and the other 19 Trainers (or less) defeat it, you will all get a cool reward each. The update come with new items you can only get by defeating the Raid Boss. Some of these are Golden Razz Berries or the Rare Candies. There are also two new types of Technical Machines that you can get, the Fast and the Charged.
