Microsoft Surface Pro Best Alternatives To Choose From

1

Microsoft Surface Pro is definitely a top-notch gadget. It has a beautiful display, detachable keyboard and an attractive price (799$).  However, if you are to consider its mediocre battery, limited ports, a separate price for the Surface Pen or the Type Cover, you might want to consider other similar devices.

Surface Pro features and Specs:

Microsoft considers this device pretty sophisticated and it has three modes: laptop mode, studio mode and tablet mode. It comes up to 16 RAM and it has an elegant design. The display is very good: it is a brilliant pixel sense one. The tablet measures 11.50×7.93×0.33 inches and only weights 2, 39 pounds (type cover included).

If you choose the Intel Core i7-7660U CPU with the 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB then the price tag for the device is quite high: 2,199 $. This is not the perfect device for gamers in terms of graphics: the tablet scored 1,569 on 3DMark Fire Strike test.

A downside of this model is that it will be the first Surface Pro which will not have the Surface Pen included. That being said, extra money needs to be spent on accessories.

Colors available for the Surface Pen and the Type over are burgundy, platinum, cobalt blue and gold. A downside of the device could be the fact that it does not have a USB-C, but a USB 3.0.

Some of the devices that have made the list are:

Acer Switch Alpha 12: it is a device with similar features, it has a starting price of 510 $, a slim body and stylus support. The keyboard is detachable and the Acer Stylus has a lower price of only 50$.

HP Spectre x360: this great device has a battery life of 10 hours (2.5 hours longer than Surface Pro) and it is very comfortable to use in your lap. Also, it is very easy to convert the tablet into a laptop and you can choose the one with the 4k display. For those who might like slim devices, the Spectre x360 has a 13.3-inch screen and a heavier body.

The iPad Pro: this Apple device has a starting price of 649, 99$ and it has the latest technology. It comes with a Retina display, quad speakers, LTE connectivity. The Apple Pencil and the Apple Keyboard are very elegant and easy to use; however, the keyboard has no touchpad. It can easily replace a MacBook.

Samsung’s Cromebook: a device using the Android operating system and it has an affordable price of 387, 99 $.  Even if it is more accessible, the tablet still comes with a 12.3-inch screen and an Intel Core m3 CPU. The stylus of the device is built-in and it also comes with the latest kind of USB ports: USB-C. Bear in mind that you might need an adapter for your accessories if they are older and you want to connect them to your Chromebook Pro.

Lenovo ThinkPad X1: it is a detachable tablet perfect for business meetings. It is elegant and it has a detachable body. The device passed the MIL-STD-810G standard for toughness. Unlike the Chomebook Pro, this tablet is compatible with plenty of accessories. Another plus is that the pen and the keyboard are included. The price is pretty high, starting from 1817, 99 $. It does offer Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and 256 GB SSD.

Microsoft Surface Laptop: it is not a tablet offering a laptop’s experience. It is a traditional laptop with a starting price of 1,299 $ and it has a touchpad, included keyboard.
