Apple Teases a New iPhone for September

1

Before anything else, let’s all calm down: Apple, being the highly secretive tech company that it, has not confirmed that the latest iPhone will arrive on September. It has not even confirmed that it’s releasing a new iPhone.

However, tech experts know how to read between the lines, and many of them agree that the Cupertino-based tech giant is gearing up to release new hardware this fall.

Analyzing Apple’s Financial Report

They inferred this from Apple’s third-quarter financial results, which were released on August 1. The company revealed that it had experienced 7 percent revenue growth and 17 percent EPS growth in the third quarter of 2017 — figures that are definitely exciting for Apple investors. However, these aren’t the most relevant part of the financial report; eagle-eyed people have noted that the company is expecting its fourth-quarter revenues to reach “between $49 billion and $52 billion”. One of the most plausible ways for Apple revenues to reach this range is to release a new iPhone.

After all, Apple loyalists will definitely line up to get their hands on the latest iPhone, which would make sales surge up right away. Even those who aren’t big fans of Apple will want to look into the new iPhone as a Christmas gift for their loved ones or as a holiday treat to themselves. All the interest generated by the new iPhone model would definitely go a long way to increasing the company’s revenues and making them go well beyond $49 billion.

Another thing that has hinted to an iPhone release in September: Apple CEO Tim Cook saying that they’re “very excited about the advances” that would arrive this fall. One of these advances involves iOS, which either refers to 1) the soon-to-be-released iOS 11 or 2) the latest iPhone model. It’s even possible that these two would arrive at the same time!

What Type of iPhone Model Can We Expect?

Since the iPhone 7 was released last year, it’s logical to expect that Apple would introduce the long-awaited iPhone 8 in 2017. However, there are rumors that the Cupertino-based company would release updated versions of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus instead.

If this does happen, it wouldn’t be the first time that Apple has done this. One year after the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were rolled out in 2014, the company introduced the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus in 2015. If this pattern is repeated, we might see an iPhone 7S and an iPhone 7S Plus in September, with the iPhone 8 making its grand entrance a few weeks or months after.

Of course, all of these are rumors — nothing has been confirmed by Apple yet — so let’s all take them with a grain of salt.

Other Hardware to Look Forward To

The iPhone 8 and the revamped iPhone 7 models are not the only Apple hardware we can expect to see this fall. We might also get to see new iPads and MacBooks by then, along with the Homepod, which is Apple’s answer to Google Home and Amazon Echo.
