Print Screen on Keyboard

Taking screenshots is quite useful, particularly if you are trying to save a portion of your screen at an instant. Well, there are lots of options when you want to take screenshots using your Windows 10 computer. Here are a few tips that you can mimic or share to others.

Print Screen

By just clicking the PrtSc button, you can capture the whole screen. However, it would only be copied to the clipboard and not automatically saved to your computer. An image editing tool might be needed to paste the screenshot you have just made. Save the file after pasting the image to the editor. You can use third-party editor or use the Microsoft Paint instead.

Snipping Tool

There is another built-in tool called the Snipping Tool, which you might have noticed on your computer. Just go to Start > All Programs > Windows Accessories > Snipping Tool.

Open the app and click New to start the screenshot process. You may use your mouse to crop an image from the screen to capture. You can choose from the rectangular shape or select that free-form, full-screen, and window snips. Save the file after snipping them because it wouldn’t save the copy automatically.

Alt + Print Screen

You only have to use the shortcut on the keyboard to take a quick snapshot of any active window with this option. Just press Alt + PrtSc and it will copy the currently active window to the clipboard. Save it using an image editing tool.

Windows + Print Screen

This option allows you to capture the whole screen and save the screenshot automatically. Just press the Windows Key + PrtSc buttons and you are done taking a screenshot. The image will be automatically saved at the Picture > Screenshots folder of your computer.

These are just a few of the many ways to take a screenshot of an active screen or window from the computer running Windows 10 operating system.
