[Download] Google Earth VR Update with Better Street View Imagery
Google Earth has been entirely revamped this year, and everyone seems to be loving it. Now Google Earth is equal amounts fun and educational, and on top of that it works better too. Gone are the days when Google Earth used to be just one annoying way to do annoying school assignments on geography or stuff like that. Now Google Earth is an actual tool that people enjoy using for more than one purpose. And Google Earth VR is the cherry on top of it all.
But there was still a minor flaw with Google Earth VR: VR headset incompatibility. Even though the concept of Google Earth VR exists since last year, you couldn’t actually access it accordingly. But now Google Earth threw some Street View imagery in the mix and made Google Earth VR a dream come true for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift users around the world. Now if you go on Google Earth with your VR headset you will surely see the ‘Street View available’ icon there.
This opens up an entire world of possibilities for those lucky enough to own a virtual reality headset, or a setup of sorts. Why? Because the world is now at their fingertips. If you own a virtual reality device and use Google Earth, you can visit our entire planet from the comfort of your own living room. And while this does not counts as actual traveling and it doesn’t feel the same, it’s a way of escaping your daily routine and doing something exciting that keeps you going until you experience the real thing.
If you don’t own a VR headset, don’t fret over it. You can use Google Earth VR on your iOS and Android devices as well. It won’t feel the same, but it’s a start.
