Microsoft Project Aims to Make Windows 10 A Modular Platform
Windows Core OS (WCOS) is one of the most important Microsoft projects at this moment since it could radically transform the operating system. The company plans to make Windows 10 a modular platform, in order to make it adapt to newer devices without any problems.
Why Windows Core OS is a real challenge for Microsoft
Since Windows is pretty old and it has many parts that out of date for devices like smartwatches. Therefore, Microsoft’s main mission is to make Windows compatible with newer hardware. And that is why WCOS was created.
Windows Core OS should allow Windows to adapt to any modern devices, including upcoming ones. The OS will work with other modular extensions as well. A Windows Central report revealed some important details about WCOS and we have learned that Windows Core OS should be launched next year. And, surprisingly enough, it will be available on mobile phones at first, instead of PCs and laptops.
This is a change welcomed by many users and manufacturers
Microsoft’s initiative to simplify things should be a good thing for everyone. Original equipment manufacturers will also be glad to find out that they won’t have to work with different Windows versions. Therefore, there will be no need to worry about the differences between Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 IoT, Windows 10 S, Windows 10 Pro, Windows Server or any other variants of Windows.
However, you should know that you cannot choose if you will use Windows Core OS. But, nevertheless, after its release, you will be able to purchase products that were made using this new OS. If WCOS manages to make the entire experience more smooth and flexible, it will attract all the Windows users. Now we can only wait for the next details.
