Fans of the Mass Effect game franchise can now download Andromeda for free. PC and Xbox owners who are also subscribed to Origin or EA Access can now rejoice at this opportunity. Mass Effect: Andromeda is not the only game Access members are getting.
Andromeda was not so well received
Upon its release Andromeda received a lot of negative criticism and the poor sales determined BioWare Montreal and EA to change their plans. The game has received several post-release improvements such as facial animations and more.
Other games added are Star Wars Battlefront II and Need for Speed: Payback Play First Trials. Andromeda is available in its entirety.
Although specific dates are not confirmed, The Sims 4 and Dead Space 3 will also be added.
Those who are subscribed to EA and Origin Access receive discounts on digital EA purchases, Play First Trials for the newest released and free playable game. Unfortunately, an equivalent subscription service for PS4 is not available.
Mass Effect: Andromeda
The action video game was developed by BioWare’s team from Montreal, unlike the other game from the franchise (Bioware Edmonton). Andromeda is the forth from the Mass Effect series and the action takes place in the Milky Way Galaxy.
The main character is Sara/Scott Ryder who is an inexperienced military recruit joining the Initiative. The Andromeda Initiative was a plan of taking over the Andromeda Galaxy. The character wakes up in Andromeda after 634 year journey. He/She becomes the Pathfinder, responsible for finding a new home for humans while dealing with aliens at the same time.
Several feedback packages had been released for Andromeda, a game built using Frostbite 3. This required the company to build systems and tools from zero, but unfortunately all the efforts did not turn the game into a success.
