Half Life fans have been going through a roller coast of emotions. They have been waiting for a Half Life 3 announcement for years now, but Valve did not confirm or deny any of the rumors that were circulating in the community. The appeal of these rumors is the fact that no one knows if they are real are not, and there is a lot of mystery surrounding them.
The biggest news so far was when the plot was released online. However, no official announcement followed after that, and fans were left in the dark once again. But it appears that now fans have once again a reason to hope.
Information from inside source
Since we did not receive any official statement from Valve, the most official information came from Gabe Newell. He posted some interesting statements on Reddit, and it appears that the company is willing to complete the trilogy.
However, as always, nothing is really clear. We did not receive a clear confirmation, and we do not know if the team is working on this project. Instead, it does seem like Half Life 3 is something that is considered by halve. Here is what Newell had to say:
“Products are usually the result of an intersection of technology that we think has traction, a group of people who want to work on that, and one of the game properties that feels like a natural playground for that set of technology and design challenges. When we decided we needed to work on markets, free to play, and user generated content, Team Fortress seemed like the right place to do that. That work ended up informing everything we did in the multiplayer space. Left 4 Dead is a good place for creating shared narratives.”
