Call of Duty WW2 just came out three days ago and the customer feedback is great. This is a step in the right direction from the folks at Sledgehammer (the game’s developer) since the previous Call of Duty installment didn’t do so well with the fans.
What happened was that Call of Duty Infinite Warfare change the game’s setting to space battles while the game’s biggest competitor, Battlefield, took another route and gave players a chance to pick up a bolt action rifle and step in the trenches of WW1.
Unlike other popular game franchises, Call of Duty is created by more than one developer teams. These teams are Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch. Infinity Ward is the team that created the infamous Infinite Warfare, Sledgehammer Games is the one in charge with Call of Duty: WW2 and Treyarch is the team that developed the highly popular Black Ops series.
Call of Duty: Black Ops IV
Seeing how both Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games have had already developed their Call of Duty installments, we think it’s safe to say that Treyarch is the next in line. More than that, analysts are reporting that Treyarch is already working on a new entry in the Black Ops franchise.
The only question that remains now is what theme are the folks at Treyarch going to follow? Will they players up in space again? Or will it bring Alex Mason’s story back to life? Considering how Infinite War and its space theme didn’t go so well with fans, we are probably going to see another Alex Mason storyline.
Revamping the Franchise
From all the Call of Duty games, the Black Ops series is the most popular one. This means that if Treyarch does create another Black Ops installment, Call of Duty’s player base is going to grow back to what it used to be.
